Richard Eugene Shortridge

Mr. Richard Eugene Shortridge, age 76, of Manchester, TN passed this life Sunday, March 24, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.

He dedicated his life to horticulture, planting his own garden, working on cars, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.  Richard was a loving and caring man who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. No one that met Richard forgot his infectious personality.  He served his country in the Army National Guard and is preceded in death by his father, Uliss Meeks,  mother, Ellen (Shortridge) Meeks. Richard is survived by his sons, Nicholas and Rick Shortridge (Brittany); grandchildren, Graycen, Atticus, and Wells Shortridge; uncle, Frank Shortridge; and aunts, Joyce Jones, Rebecca Eckoff, and Ola Kirkland.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28th at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.  Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Jeff Stewart officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Pelham, TN.
