Kenneth M. Thomas

Mr. Kenneth Malcom Thomas was born January 9, 1932 in Gary, Indiana to the late James and Ethel Thomas. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 19, 2023 at the age of 91.

In addition to his parents, Ken is predeceased by his oldest daughter, Deborah Ann, who died hours after her birth; his brother, Ray Thomas and his wife Ruth, and a sister, Nellie Zumbro.

Ken and his wife Betty Jo Bush were married a month shy of 65 years. Their children are Kim and her husband Doug, Pam and her husband Chip, and Jim and his wife Angie. Their grandchildren, Matt, Kyle, Luke, Ben, Ashley, and Wesley. Their great grandchildren, Connor, Cade, Camille, Olivia, Sam, and Caroline

Ken graduated from Coffee County High School in 1950. After graduation he enlisted in the US Navy. His four years of Navy training prepared him for a career in computer programming at AEDC. He loved farming with Jim. Every day was filled with wit and wisdom. He was always happy to shoot basketball with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was long time member of New Union Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and then elder for a span of more than 30 years.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Potters Childrens Home, information can be found below the service and cemetery locations.
