Gregory “Greg” Alan Lemons, age 55, of Manchester, Tennessee passed away in the comfort of his home and surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, August 27, 2021.
Born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on January 27, 1966, “Greg” had devoted his life to being a loving son, husband, father and grandfather with a heart of gold and an everlasting love for his family and friends. He was a retired United States Army Captain of twenty-three years, serving in the Gulf War and then volunteering for the United States National Guard for an additional ten years. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking for his friends and family, woodworking and reading military novels. “Greg” loved studying United States War History. He will be missed dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Thomas Lemons; one brother, Jeffery Lemons and one granddaughter, Amaya Schrimsher.
Survivors include his wife of seventeen years, Frances “Fran” Lemons; his mother, Flora Ann (Steve) Powell; one stepson, Jeremy Bennett; four daughters, Lacey (Thadd Barton) Lemons, Crystal (Ralphael Sanfilippo) Lemons, Tiffany Lemons and Hannah Lemons; two sisters, Lori Ann (Lilly) James and Vickie Ann Lemons; nine grandchildren, Nevaeh, Zoe, Asher, Maliyah, Josh, Malachi, Maverick, “M.J.” and Audrey; and his beloved dogs, Legend, Missy, Rascal and Honey.
Visitation will be held at Coffee County Funeral Chapel in Manchester, Tennessee on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 4-8PM.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 11AM with Bro. Steve Powell and Bro. Wayne Hollingsworth officiating.
Interment to immediately follow at Gudger Cemetery in Sewanee, Tennessee.
