He was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and family members. Everett is preceded in death by biological father, John Wayne Baltimore.

Everett was a Christian by faith and member of Experience Community Church in Tullahoma, TN at the time of his death.

Everett loved big. His family was his primary focus and being “Pop Pop” to his grandkids was his favorite role. He was active in all their lives from coaching their baseball & softball teams, taking them fishing, teaching them the value of work, taking everyone to the beach and everything in between. He loved to play and never lost his desire to find the fun in life. He would have done anything for them and proudly displayed each of their names tattooed on his arms.

Everett played baseball from childhood through high school and after graduating from Coffee County Central High in 1991, he played college baseball for Motlow State Community College. He never gave up his love for the sport and was an avid Braves fan.

Everett truly loved to play, coach, mentor and challenge his players in baseball and softball. He planned and played in numerous tournaments over the years and had a reputation for hitting many over the fence. He had the ability to help any child believe they could become a great ball player too.

Everett was a driver for Batesville Casket Company prior to being diagnosed with cancer in late 2022.  He volunteered his time in the community by playing Santa for local organizations, coaching numerous baseball and softball teams, and serving on the boards of those organizations. He looked after his extended family and friends and was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Everett was a kind-hearted, generous, loving and community-oriented person who welcomed friends and family, new and old, into his heart. He was known and loved by people far and wide. His absence leaves a void in all our lives.

In leu of flowers, a bank account has been established at First Vision Bank in Manchester, Tennessee for his grandchildren to support their future occupational and educational goals. Donations can be made to the Everett Holmes Grandchildren Educational Fund which will be administered by his wife Anna Riddle Holmes. A Memorial Softball Tournament is being planned for June 2024 to honor Everett’s love of ball and its ability to bring people together. Proceeds will go the EHGE Fund.
