Long-time Manchester resident Edwina Smith West died Wednesday at Morning Point Senior Living Center in Franklin, Tennessee. She was 91.
Visitation with the family will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at The Church @ 117 in Manchester. A graveside service will follow at Concord Cemetery in Tullahoma with Ray Marcrom officiating.
Mrs. West was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to Hall Marie May Smith and Wiley Edward Smith. She attended Lawrence County schools.
She was the widow of Robert Everette West, who died in 1995. They were married for 46 years. She retired from Carrier Air Conditioning Co. in Morrison after 25 years. In retirement, she enjoyed working in the yard with her plants and shrubs and was always looking forward for the next tree or flower to bloom.
Her love of flowers was exceeded only by her love of family. She often said the favorite times of her life were watching her children play baseball, softball and basketball in Manchester.
She is survived by her five children: Curtis D. West (Linda) of Franklin, Phillip E. West (Rachel) of Oxford, Mississippi, Steven K. West (Roberta) of Nashville, Robert Scott West (Tammy) of Humboldt, Tennessee, and Melissa D. Wiser (Scott) of Franklin. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
Coffee County Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the West family.
