Deputy “Randy” Wildes (Jerry Randall Wildes), age 50, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away while surrounded by his loved ones, from a short-term illness, on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
Born in Crossville, Tennessee, on January 5, 1972, to the late Sue Wildes, Randy devoted his life to be a loving and honorable son, husband, father, grandfather and community servant. A United States Army Veteran, who enlisted shortly after graduating high school, Randy served two tours of duty, during the Gulf War from 1990-97. After being honorably discharged, Randy then started his career as a Deputy, for various areas, and devoted over twenty years of service to the profession he loved so dearly. Randy had most recently been employed with the Coffee County Sheriffs Department for over two years. He also was a volunteer fireman, having been credited with saving many lives, and currently volunteered with North Coffee Fire Department #8200. Hardworking, active and valued, Randy was always willing to help others, in any way possible and tried being a good friend to all. Randy’s service, loyalty and determination will surely be missed by his loving family, friends and the Coffee County Community.
Other than his mother, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, whom he admired so much, Hartley Wildes; uncle, Gerald Wildes;and beloved German Shepard, “Max”.
Survivors include his loving wife of six years, Jennifer Wildes; maternal grandmother, who will soon be 101 years old, Sarah Wildes; two sons, Zach Wildes and Trent (Courtney Mansfield) Hunt; two daughters, Brookelyn Wildes and Kathryn (Cain) Prayter; four grandchildren, Natalie Wildes, Lux Wildes, Harper Wildes and Lincoln Prayter; special aunt and uncle, Hartley (Nina) Wildes; cousins, Jade Summers, Tina Wildes, Dona Smith and Stacy Wildes; and a special host of friends and “brothers” of Law Enforcement.
The family will receive visitors, at Coffee County Funeral Chapel, on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 4-8PM.
Funeral Services will be held, at the funeral home, on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 2PM, with Bro. Danny Anderson officiating.
Interment with Police Honors to immediately follow at New Reddens Cemetery in Manchester, Tennessee.
