She was born August 4, 1934 in Beechgrove, TN to the late William Paul Eaton and Willie Dell Gorden Eaton. Besides her parents, Annette is also preceded in death by her brothers, William and Earl Eaton and sister, Maire Hattfield.
Annette graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1952. December 23, 1952 she married her sweetheart, Allan Dale Smith and for 71 years they shared a beautiful life together. Allan was in the military and Annette followed him to all of his post assignments, which include Pittsburg, New York, Mississippi and England until they came back home to Manchester in 1968. Together, they raised three children, Roger Smith who married Lynda, Diana Skonecki who married Mark, and Alan Paul Smith. Their grandchildren are Nathan Smith, Natalie Frasier who married Scott, Nickolas Skonecki, and Michelle Jones who married Benny. Annette and Allan also have eight great-grandchildren.
Annette was a sweet, precious, patient, and kind soul that had a very loving heart. No matter what you were doing Annette wanted to help, even if it was just to bring you a glass of sweet iced tea. Annette proudly raised Persian Cats and has said that each one has its own personality. Her beautiful Persians won blue ribbons including, Best In Show and Best In Breed at several State Shows. Annette battled Alzheimer’s for many years with Dale by her side, taking care of his beautiful wife.
